What I love the most about programming is that I have the freedom to create whatever I want. I have created projets that range from a math tutor for my sister, badge and community hour tracker for my mom's girl scout troops, wang tile tesselation, to a speech to text transcriber.
My Dad sparked my interest in cars. Ever since I can remember, he has taught me about cars. Through him I developed a love for old cars. We recently got a '69 Chevy ton truck up and running again, and will begin working on a '65 Ford Mustang soon.
My first experience with technology was sitting on my Dad's lap playing a video game on the computer. From there I started to become more interested in technology. I like to research topics such as: computers, video games, augmented/virtual reality, and machine learning technology. Through my love for technology I learned more about computers and started to build custom PC's.
I am a senior Computer Science major at the University of Kentucky. In my time in college I have joined clubs such as IEEE and ACM. I have also participated in hackathons, even winning second place at UK's Cathacks this past spring. As a student I am always striving to learn more inside and outside of the classroom. As a programmer my main goals are to help others, improve and develop new technology, and help other people discover the world of coding.
In my time as programmer I have worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant on two teams and worked as a Network Engineer Intern. These jobs have taught me how to work independently and in a group setting. Each job has helped me grow as a programmer in different languages and learn how to apply what I learn in class into a "real world" setting. I hope to have many more opportunities to expand on what I have learned and show others the passion that I have for coding.
